Both workshops are offered either Tuesdays or Wednesday from 3:30-5:00 PM and can be taken in either order. The Certified Leadership Series is an interactive workshop series that is designed to give students the opportunity to learn about leadership theory and put it into practice. The series is offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00 PM for 11 weeks, and students are able to pick the day which works best for their schedule. The course is free to UNT students and is a great opporunity to develop as a leader.
Spring 2013 Classes start on February 5th and 6th in Wooten Hall 210.
The Certified Leadership Series incorporates leadership theory and the practice of leadership for students who are interested in creating active and positive social change in their community. The Center for Leadership and Service believes that leadership is a process that involves self-awareness at the individual level, collaboration at the organizational level, and action at the community level. The series covers the Social Change Model of leadership development as well as the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership, outlined by Kouzes's and Posner's The Student Leadership Challenge. The series is designed to give students a better understanding of leadership and how to apply leadership theory to all aspects of their lives.
Eagle E.D.G.E. (Education, Diversity, Growth, and Effectiveness) is an interactive workshop series that is designed to give students the opportunity to learn more about the skills needed to better prepare themselves for a future leadership position or job. You will receive training in different areas that current supervisors see as necessary skills for candidates seeking peer leadership/mentor positions at UNT. The series is offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00 PM for 11 weeks, and students are able to pick the day which works best for their schedule. The course is free to UNT students and is a great opporunity to develop as a leader.

Course Objective
Eagle E.D.G.E encourages education, diversity, growth, and effectiveness. The objective of this course is to better prepare students for employment opportunities where they will be working directly with other students as a peer mentor. The lessons are designed to encourage leadership development and student initiative as well as create well-rounded candidates for any peer leadership position on campus.
